Top American promotion UFC has officially announced that a unification bout between Alex Volkanovski and Yair Rodríguez will headline UFC 290 on July 8 in Las Vegas, USA.
Rodriguez, 30, had his last fight against Josh Emmett at UFC 284 in February of this year. Yair won that fight by choking in the second round. He has 15 wins and three losses under his belt.
Volkanovski had his title fight in the lightweight division at UFC 284 against Islam Makhachev. In this fight, Alex lost by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 25 wins and two defeats on his record.
