Jones returns to top of UFC P4P rankings for first time since 2020

American top mixed martial arts promotion UFC published updated ratings after UFC 285 tournament, which was held on March 5 in Las Vegas (USA).

To recap, in the main event of the event American Jon Jones made his debut in the heavyweight division and won by submission in the first round over Ciryl Gane. The interim division title was on the line, which now belongs to Jones.

Jones was ranked as the top fighter regardless of weight class (P4P) in the updated rankings. Jones hasn't topped the rankings since October 2020. At that time, Khabib Nurmagomedov, who defeated Justin Gaethje at UFC 254, took the lead.

Russia's Islam Makhachev fell to third place in P4P, while Australia's Alex Volkanovski fell to second.

Also, Mexican-born Alexa Grasso, who broke Valentina Shevchenko's 8-fight winning streak, came in second in the women's P4P. Shevchenko is third, Amanda Nunes takes first place.
