UFC 285 took place in Las Vegas on March 5, with American Jon Jones defeating Frenchman Ciryl Gane in the main event to win the promotion's vacant heavyweight title.

Jones defeated Gane in the first round by guillotine submission. This is John's 15th victory in title fights. Thus, John cemented his lead in the list of fighters with the best winning streak in title fights.

Georges St-Pierre is number two with 13 wins, Demetrious Johnson is number three with 12.

Jones defeated Dominick Reyes by unanimous decision at UFC 247 in February 2020. At UFC 239 in 2019, Jones defeated Thiago Santos by split decision. The American has 27 wins and one loss under his belt.

Gane knocked out Tai Tuivasa in the third round in September 2022. Last January, Ciryl lost by unanimous decision to Francis Ngannou. Gane has 11 wins and two losses.
