Kevin Lee on Ending his MMA Career: I had to Put it Outside My Mind

Former UFC interim lightweight title challenger, American mixed martial arts fighter Kevin Lee has spoken out about his retirement.

Kevin Lee told YouTube channel Submission Radio
Did I quit for good? It’s 100 percent. I had to put it outside of my mind. I don’t wanna leave a 95 [percent] and, ‘Maybe in ten years I’ll come back, or maybe in three years or maybe in two years.’ For right now, it’s gonna be about getting the surgery. Healing myself, and then making a lot of money outside the sport…

Lee last fought against Rinat Fakhretdinov this past July at UFC on ESPN 48. In that confrontation, Kevin was defeated by a first-round submission.

Lee stepped into the octagon in March 2022 against Diego Sanchez at Eagle FC 46. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended in Kevin's favor by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 19 wins and eight losses on his record.
