American mixed martial arts fighter Derrick Lewis will fight against Jailton Almeida at UFC Fight Night 231, replacing Curtis Blaydes, who has pulled out of the fight.
This was reported by famous insider Marcel Dorff on his social media accounts. The reasons for Blaydes' withdrawal from the fight were not reported.
Lewis last fought against Marcos Rogerio de Lima this past July at UFC 291. In that confrontation, Derrick won by technical knockout in the first round. He has 27 wins and 11 losses in mixed martial arts.
The nearest numbered tournament UFC 294 will take place on October 21 in Abu Dhabi. In the main event of the night Russian fighter Islam Makhachev will fight Brazilian Charles Oliveira.
