Manny Pacquiao to fight Japanese wrestler in Rizin tournament

Former eight-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines will fight Japanese wrestler Kota Ibushi in his debut for the Rizin Fighting Federation promotion.

Negotiations for the Ibushi vs. Pacquiao bout are in the preliminary stages and rules have not yet been determined, according to Tokyo Sport.

Pacquiao, 44, last stepped into the ring in December 2022 in Seoul against South Korean blogger DK Yoo. That confrontation went the distance and ended with Manny winning by unanimous decision.

Ibushi, 40, is a Japanese professional wrestler who competes in NJPW (New Japan Pro-Wrestling).
