A Dublin court has ruled that former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor must pay $1.5 million to Nikita Hand, who has accused him of rape.
According to The Guardian, this amount will be paid on top of the approximately $260,000 awarded for emotional damages. The jury found McGregor guilty of assaulting Hand.
McGregor's lawyer announced plans to appeal the decision.
Previously, a Dublin court found McGregor liable in a civil lawsuit related to allegations of rape in December 2018. As part of the compensation, the Irish fighter is also required to pay an additional €250,000.
McGregor last fought against American Dustin Poirier in July 2021 at UFC 264, where he suffered a technical knockout due to a broken leg. His record in mixed martial arts stands at 22 wins and six losses.
