Melvin Manhoef loses tournament in Japan after resuming his career

On December 28 in Japan, in the main event of IGF tournament Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye the Dutch MMA veteran Melvin Manhoef, who recently relaunched his career, clashed with the Brazilian Igor Tanabe.

Manhoef was defeated by a painful submission at the 1 minute 58-second mark of the first round.

Manhoef, 46, had his previous fight in September, 2022, at Bellator 285, losing to Yoel Romero by TKO in the third round. Immediately after that defeat, Manhoef announced the end of his career. He has 32 wins and 17 losses under his belt.
