Mousasi Sues Bellator and PFL for $15 Million

Former Bellator middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi has filed a lawsuit against the organization and its new owners, the PFL, for breach of contract.

According to the lawsuit, Mousasi’s contract with Bellator stipulated that he would receive a fixed payment of $200,000 per fight, a $50,000 bonus for early victories, and a guaranteed $600,000 for promotional activities.

After the PFL acquired Bellator, Mousasi stopped getting fight opportunities, and he started threatening legal action against the new owners. However, he was released from the organization the following day.

In October, Mousasi filed a lawsuit seeking $15 million in damages.

Currently, Mousasi is on a two-fight losing streak. He most recently lost to Fabian Edwards by unanimous decision at Bellator 296 in May 2023. Mousasi’s record stands at 49 wins, nine losses, and two draws.
