New Date For First UFC Tournament In Saudi Arabia Officially Announced

Saudi Arabia's Minister of Entertainment Turki Al Al-Sheikh has announced that the UFC's debut tournament in Riyadh, originally scheduled for March 2, has officially been rescheduled for June 22.

Al Al-Sheikh wrote on his social media account:

The decision to reschedule was made to ensure the participation of the highest caliber of talent.

Journalist Ariel Helwani was the first to report the postponement of UFC Fight Night in Riyadh to the summer, saying that the Saudis were unhappy with the upcoming event's card. UFC CEO Dana White later denied Helwani's remarks, saying the promotion simply didn't have time to organize several scheduled fights.
