Ortega Reflects on Loss to Diego Lopes: I’ll be Crying Blood for a Bit

American UFC fighter Brian Ortega, competing in the featherweight division, spoke about the injuries he sustained during his recent match against Brazilian fighter Diego Lopez at a tournament in Las Vegas.

Ortega told MMA Junkie:

Face is a little bit swollen, lip is a little bit swollen. Obviously, the eye was crying for a bit, but it is what it is. I’ll be crying blood for a bit. Leg is swollen. I’m putting some cream on it. We’re doing good. I did have some time to reflect obviously. I’ve got to make some moves to get better. That’s it.

Ortega faced Lopez in the octagon on September 15 during UFC 306 in Las Vegas. The fight went the full distance, and Brian lost by unanimous decision. His mixed martial arts record now stands at 16 wins, four losses, and one no contest.
