O'Malley Believes He Would Beat Peak McGregor

Current UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley has commented on a potential bout against former double UFC champion Conor McGregor.

O'Malley said on the PBD Podcast:

I think I have better skills. I can switch stances, defend well, and I believe I have the best striking in MMA hands down. I think it would have been a competitive fight back when he was at 145.

O'Malley is set to face Marlon Vera in a rematch on March 10 at UFC 299 in Miami, USA. The first fight between these two fighters in August 2020 ended with O'Malley's technical knockout loss in the first round. He holds a record of 17 wins and one loss.

McGregor's last octagon appearance was against Dustin Poirier in July 2021 at UFC 264. McGregor lost that fight due to a technical knockout caused by a leg fracture. He holds a record of 22 wins and six losses.
