Former UFC bantamweight champion and Russian UFC fighter Petr Yan shared his future plans after defeating Brazilian Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC Fight Night 248.
Yan won by unanimous decision from the judges on November 23 in Macau, China.
I felt that I led in the fight, but you know, anything can happen in the UFC. Hey guys, before my fight, Merab told that Deiveson Figueiredo was the number one contender who deserved the [next] title fight – I want to say to Merab, what do you say now?!
Recall, the confrontation between Yan and bantameight division champion Merab Dvalishvili, which took place in March 2023 at UFC Fight Night 221, ended with the victory of the Georgian fighter by unanimous decision of judges.
Yan previously stepped into the octagon in March 2024 at UFC 299, defeating Song Yadong by unanimous decision. He has 18 wins and five losses on his record.
Figueiredo last fought in August 2024 at UFC on ABC 7, defeating Marlon Vera by unanimous decision. He has 24 wins, four losses and one draw on his record.
