Canadian rapper Drake won $2.7 million thanks to a bet on UFC middleweight champion New Zealander Israel Adesanya's victory over Brazilian Alex Pereira.
Drake placed two bets on the fight -- $500,000 on Adesanya's win and $400,000 on the New Zealand fighter's knockout victory.
Adesanya and Pereira fought a rematch April 9 in the main event of UFC 287. The fight, which was stopped in the second round, ended in favor of Pereira by knockout.
The first fight between Adesanya and Pereira took place in November, 2022, at UFC 281. Alex won that fight by TKO in the fifth round. He has seven wins and two losses under his belt. Israel has 24 wins and two losses under his belt.
