Former UFC middleweight champion American Luke Rockhold said he could easily defeat the promotion's former middleweight champion, Brazilian Alex Pereira.

Rockhold last fought under the MMA rules against Paulo Costa in August 2022 at UFC 278. In that encounter, Luke was defeated by unanimous decision of the judges. After this fight, he announced his retirement from the UFC. He has 16 wins and six losses on his record.
Pereira made his last appearance in the Octagon against Israel Adesanya in April of this year at the UFC 287 tournament. That fight ended in a second-round knockout loss to Alex. He has seven wins and two losses under his belt.
