MMA fighter Chael Sonnen spoke out about his upcoming third fight against former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. The fight will take place under boxing rules on June 15 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Sonnen said in an interview with ESPN MMA:
If I lose this, I will be devastated. I will have no opportunity. I have thought about this man every single day for ten years, and that's a very private thing. There's nothing about this where I go, 'Boxing's not quite my style...'. I am going out there to beat this man, to fix my life, or I'm going to go [the] rest of my days looking at my career as a miserable failure.
Recall that Silva and Sonnen held two fights under the MMA rules. Anderson won both fights. Silva has mixed martial arts 34 wins and 11 losses, and one more of his fights ruled a no contest. Sonnen has 31 wins, 17 losses and one draw.
