Bellator lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov told how he met his cousin, former UFC lightweight division champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
In an inteview to Match TV Usman said:
He grew up in Makhachkala and is ten years older than me. When they moved from the village, I had just started going to school. I remember I was walking to my uncle's house, about 100-150 meters, and a car passed by, they wanted to give me a good scare. They opened the car door, like, we are going to kidnap you now. Khabib was in that car, that's how we met.
We will remind, Nurmagomedov will fight with Brent Primus on October 8 in San Diego (USA) at the Bellator 300 tournament.
Nurmagomedov last went into the cage against Benson Henderson in March 2023 at Bellator 292: Usman won this confrontation with a choking submission in the first round. He has 17 wins and no losses on his record.
Primus last fought against Mansour Barnaoui in May 2023 at Bellator 296. That fight went the full distance and ended in Brent's favor with a unanimous decision from the judges. He has 12 wins and three losses on his record.
