American UFC lightweight fighter Bobby Green believes that current Russian division champion Islam Makhachev is using banned drugs.

I found a little video, and it said Islam had a little drug problem. But I don't see people talking about him. The Russian school he attended just gave him vitamins. They've been doing that ever since they started training. Imagine if you were giving someone steroids from the age of ten or fifteen. How strong would you be?
Let's remind, that in September of the current year the American admitted his guilt in use of the forbidden substance dehydroepiandrosterone, and consequently was disqualified by USADA for 6 months. In February, Makhachev defeated Green by TKO in the first round of UFC Vegas 49.
Islam Makhachev is scheduled for his next fight against Alex Volkanovski on February 12 at UFC 284. Islam last competed in the Octagon in October 2022, at UFC 280, beating Charles Oliveira by TKO in the second round.
