UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski spoke about whether his fight with the promotion's lightweight champion Islam Makhachev will take place.

It was previously reported that Makhachev and Volkanovski may meet in the octagon next February 14 in Perth, Australia.
In July of this year, Volkanovski faced Max Holloway of the United States at UFC 276. This confrontation lasted the whole distance and ended with Alex winning by unanimous decision of the judges.
Makhachev had his last fight against Brazilian Charles Oliveira last October at UFC 280. In this confrontation, Islam won by a choke hold and became the UFC lightweight champion.
