An Irish wax museum has removed the wax figure of former UFC champion Conor McGregor from its exhibition following his recent rape conviction. This information was confirmed to The Journal by a museum representative.
The figure of McGregor is no longer displayed in the "Sports Icons Room." Reports indicate that the wax figure was taken out of public view two weeks ago, shortly after the start of a civil lawsuit involving Nikita Hand against McGregor. The statue was originally set up in the Irish Wax Museum in 2017.
Earlier, a court in Dublin found McGregor liable in a civil lawsuit related to allegations of raping a woman in December 2018, ordering him to pay 250,000 euros in damages.
McGregor’s last fight was against American Dustin Poirier in July 2021 at UFC 264, where he lost via technical knockout due to a leg break. In mixed martial arts, he has a record of 22 wins and six losses.
