ODI Update: Mary-Anne Musonda gives Zimbabwe chase impetus

Zimbabwe is in a strong position against Ireland in the first ODI. The team is around 10 runs short of the target at the time of writing the news with more than eight overs and four wickets in play. Zimbabwe had a slight wobble early and lost two wickets for 25 runs, then a 57 runs partnership between Ndiraya and Musonda rescued the innings a bit.

Two more fifty+ partnerships assured Zimbabwe is on the right track. However, the control of the game has largely vested upon Mary-Anne Musonda’s 96 runs innings at the time of writing this piece. Ireland batted first and set at a target of 254 courtesy of a fantastic 86 runs innings by Irish captain Laura Delany. Sophie McMahon’s 13 balls 29 runs innings also helped Ireland to a decent total.
