Jacopo Venzo, 17-year-old Italian cyclist, died in Austria during the Giro dell'Alta race. This was reported by the athlete's team Campana Imballaggi Geo&Tex on social media.

With tears in our eyes and a broken heart we announce that our junior Jacopo Venzo has left us. He fell victim to a very heavy crash yesterday on the descent during the first stage of the Giro dell'Alta Austria.
Venzo fell on a steep descent down the Mistelbacher mountain. No one was around him at the time of the fall. He was transported to Kepler Hospital in a serious condition, but doctors couldn't save the athlete.
