Telegram channel Mash reported details about the hospitalized Olympic champion Roman Kostomarov, who underwent amputation of his feet and is at risk of losing his upper limbs.

According to the source, the information about the amputation of Kostomarov's hands isn't true. In fact, the player had to have several fingers amputated, but the rest of his hands are still intact after the infection was stopped in time.

Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 in serious condition with pneumonia. The athlete was placed in a medically induced coma and put on a ventilator and ECMO. Two weeks later, the ex-ice dancer began to regain consciousness, but he developed sepsis and necrosis. To save Kostomarov's life, doctors had to amputate his limbs.
