Due to poor water quality in the Seine River, practice swims for triathletes were canceled, and the men’s competition was rescheduled by one day.
Kazakh athlete Ekaterina Shabalina told Championat edition that she felt unwell after swimming in the Seine. Because of the pollution, organizers were even considering changing the format of the triathlon.
