A new insect species was named after Novak Djokovic in Serbia

Serbian scientists have discovered and described a new species of insect, and decided to name it after tennis player Novak Djokovic.

The creature was named "Duvalius djokovici".

"The new insect species is a predator in an underground environment, and Novak - on the tennis court, so to speak. The authors of the discovery admire Djokovic, and it was another reason to name the species after the best tennis player of all time," reports Radio and Television Serbia.

Note that in 2019, a new species of freshwater snail native to Montenegro was named after Djokovic too.

Djokovic, 35, has won 89 ATP titles during his career, including 21 Grand Slam tournaments.
