
Australian tennis player Frederick Sydney Stolle, a 19-time Grand Slam champion, passed away at the age of 86. This news was shared by Tennis Australia on its official social media platforms.

A Grand Slam champion on the court, a voice in the booth, and forever a legend in our hearts. Rest in peace, Frederick Stolle.
Throughout his career, Stolle won a total of 19 Grand Slam titles, including two singles titles: the Australian Open in 1965 and the US Open in 1966, becoming the world’s number one player at that time.
He also secured ten titles in men's doubles and seven in mixed doubles (three with Lesley Turner, two with Margaret Smith, and two with British player Ann Haydon Jones). Besides, Stolle was a three-time Davis Cup champion with the Australian team from 1964 to 1966.
