Wen Xiaoyan added to China’s already impressive Paralympic medal tally as she finished first in the T37 long jump event. USA’s Jaleen Roberts came second to clinch silver, while ROC’s Anna Sapozhnikova ended up with the bronze medal. Wen Xiaoyan won her second Gold in the event as she also came on top in the 200M T37 earlier.
Wen covered a distance of 5.13m, while Jaleen Roberts lodged a distance of 4.65 m. Anna Sapozhnikova came close to winning the silver as she fell just 0.09 m short of Jaleen’s distance. The T37 category refers to athletes with cerebral palsy.
