On 12 March in Sydney, there'll be a boxing evening, with one of the fights being between Sergey Vorobiev, who's now representing Australia, and Cesar Tapia, who's got Mexican roots. The winner will get the IBF Inter-Continental title, which is currently vacant. It'll be a ten-round middleweight fight. Tapia is a huge favorite with the bookies.

Vorobiev used to be seen as a really promising boxer, but recently things haven't exactly gone to plan for him. He moved to Australia in 2023 and had four fights – a loss, a win and two draws. His last fight ended in a draw with Mason Smith (10-2-1).
But now, Sergey says he's totally adapted to Australia, he's ready for the fight (unlike the last one) and he's totally focused.
Cesar Mateo Tapia
Mateo Tapia hasn't lost a fight yet, but his last one was a draw with Endry Saavedra (16-1-0), just like Vorobiev. Tapia fought exclusively in Australia until 2023, but then still travelled to North America twice. He's seen as a rising star, at least by the standards of the Green Continent.
Expert Betting Tips
Cesar's managers are now gently guiding him towards titles, and felt Vorobiev was a good fit for him. In fact, it's a shame, but the move is the right one. Sergey isn't going to be any better than he was and he probably doesn't have championship ambitions anymore.
Neither of them is a KO expert, and to win on points, Vorobiev has to be head and shoulders stronger. In a close fight, the judges won't give him the win.
