LPL Summer 2021 is a professional Chinese cyber sports league for League of Legends. Held for the ninth time in its history, during the summer period of the tournament 17 top Chinese teams battled, and will play in the group stage. The top 10 teams will advance to the playoffs, where the money prize ($656,383) and the right to represent the region at the World Championship 2021 will be awarded.
FunPlus Phoenix: The top favorite to break into the grand final
Phoenix have picked up some cruising momentum as they move through the group stage of this summer's LPL season, winning it with a score of 13-3. The team had no problems in the first round of the top net of the playoff stage and against LNG Esports, which is the team that knocked off a number of strong teams, Phoenix lost by a score of 0-3.
For the match with Team WE, Phoenix are the unconditional favorites, but you should not write off the opponent, they are full of surprises, which has already been proved in the match against Edward Gaming. Team WE: Will the winning streak continue?
Team WE was once one of the strongest teams in China. Winning the LPL Spring 2017, bronze at the Mid-Season Invitational 2017 and World Championship 2017, but as often happens, after big victories, if an organization doesn't have a lot of money, the best players leave the team and the team's results plummet. That's what happened to Team WE, but it looks like it's time to regain some of that lost glory.
The spring of 2021 did not end as planned for the team. Yes, the guys made the playoffs, but they lost without a chance in the first round against Suning (0-3), which was a big surprise.
The only change in the squad was the arrival of midfielder Mole, just from the V5 team. The start of the summer tournament was successful for the team, they won three times in their first three meetings. They defeated Suning (2-1), ThunderTalk Gaming (2-0) and Victory Five (2-0), but then came a series of defeats that took the team to the final statistic 10-6 and they had to start again with the first round of the playoffs, which they confidently overcame Oh My God (3-0). Further the team easily dealt with Bilibili Gaming (3-0) and only in the third qualifying round of the playoffs the team got a serious rebuff from Rare Atom (2-3) and that Team WE led 2-0 on maps and then relaxed and gave their opponent a comeback to the 5th map, which they won. It will be a miracle to see this team in the grand final, although they are not pressured by the result, and this can play to the plus side.
